Athena Rajnai is a keenly observant poet whose classically trained voice and folk influences blend together to create succinct, crystal-clear songs. Alongside a 5 piece band, the Geneva-based, Pennsylvania-born artist touches on themes of love, fear, and longing in their music, twisting pastoral imagery with blunt truth. A recent graduate of Ithaca College’s School of Music, a fierce local arts advocate via The Smith Opera House, and an avid music-junkie, Rajnai is indisputably an artist aiming to make a meaningful impact in our frightening world. The Smith Opera House presents the Winter Cabaret Series. Every other week a band/artist will take over the Cabaret for a musical showcase.
