Unwanted Pharmaceuticals To Be Collected at Wegmans in Canandaigua
On April 25, 2015, Ontario County Sheriff's Office, Wegmans Food Markets, Covarta Niagara Center, Ontario County Office for the Aging, Canandaigua Police Department and The Partnership for Ontario County will be sponsoring a program to collect outdated, unwanted and unusable medications.
The program will take place from 9 am to 12 pm at the Wegmans in Canandaigua. Properly disposing of unused medication can help prevent drug misuse and abuse. According to the FDA the safest and most environmentally protective way to dispose of unused medication is returning unwanted medicines to a take-back program. Appointments are not necessary. Wegmans will have signs on site for those wishing to properly dispose of medication.
