Roses & Rosés 2015
Sonnenberg’s 8th Annual Roses & Rosés to Feature Wine and Food in Celebration of Rose Month
The 8th Annual Roses & Rosés will be held on June 8, 2015 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion State Historic Park in Canandaigua. This elegant wine and food pairing event showcases dozens of wineries and restaurants from the Finger Lakes Region in celebration of Rose Month at Sonnenberg. Guests are invited to stroll through the historic Mansion, Belvedere, and Rose Garden where many of the garden’s roses will be starting to enter their peak bloom period. A silent auction will also be held in the Mansion.
Sonnenberg’s original owner, Mary Clark Thompson, originally created the park’s Rose Garden more than a century ago to feature over 2,500 rose bushes. Sonnenberg’s Rose Month, every June, marks and celebrates the peak bloom period of the Rose Garden. This garden at its peak provides an amazing sensory treat for both the eyes and nose.
Sponsors of this year’s event are: Ryan’s Wines and Spirits, Canandaigua National Bank, Lyons National Bank and Wegmans.
Advance reservations are $30 per person or $25 per Sonnenberg Member. This event is open to guests 21 and over only and will be held rain or shine. In case of rain, the event is moved into the mansion. Prepaid reservations are required and can be made by calling (585) 394-4922.
All funds raised at Roses & Rosés will directly contribute to the operation and revitalization of Sonnenberg Gardens. While Sonnenberg is a New York State Historic Park and operates in cooperation with the State of New York, it is supported entirely by the activities of its non-profit organization and events like this.
