Fairy House Event at Springtime in Canandaigua Arts and Crafts Show
We are having a competition for Fairy Houses which are small structures for fairies and Nature’s friends to visit. Fairy Houses, inspired by a series of children’s books, refer to very small scale buildings. They first appeared on an island off the coast of New England and have now spread across the country. Brick and mortar are replaced by sticks, bark, dry grasses and other natural materials. By constructing these dwellings it is hoped families with be connected with Nature’s world, says author Tracy Kane. Community members, families and Nature lovers will be encouraged to submit their structures during the first day of Springtime in Canandaigua on April 24th. They will be judged for best use of natural material, most whimsical and most unique. The competition is open to the public and an application can be found on the web site at www.SpringtimeinCanandaigua.com
