Websites are scary, confusing, and often expensive. If you've been avoiding getting online because you don't have the knowledge, time, or money to get started, this session is for you. We will walk step by step through the website process in this highly interactive session. We will even build a website live for one of the attendees! By the end of the day everyone in this session can have a web presence. Or add an additional web presence on the cheap to the one(s) they already have.
You will learn:
- how you don't have to speak computer language to do some cool stuff online
- developmental stages for your website so you can continue to make it better and better
- how to choose and purchase your website address
- how to get a web presence in 30 minutes or less
- how to get emails with yourname@yourwebsite.com and gain a more professional and organized impression
- what to put on your website to best help your business attract and even serve your customers and future customers
- how to setup a blog
- how to connect other resources into your website: video, email subscription forms, even HTML code (even if you have no idea what it says!!)
- other do's and don'ts of websites and internet
- how to sell things off your webpage in the most basic way
- ask any question and I will answer it to the best of my ability and if I don't know I'll show you how I would go about finding the answer
About the Instructor, Jeremy Biernat:
Jeremy started his business in 2006 with only $100 in his checking account. With no business store front and no money for advertising his business had to attract people some other way. The internet was a big part of that. He still likes doing things the cheap way, but runs a very successful fitness training studio in Canandaigua (chosen service business of the year in 2014). You should probably go visit his website (www.talltrainer.com). He is teaching this session not because he is a website expert, but because he knows what it's like to get started and wants to help people get a better jump start than he had. "There are too many businesses I see without a strong presence online. I want to help fix that for my fellow chamber members. The Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce was such a helpful resource when I got started I just want to give back."
