Adult Spelling Bee sponsored by the Literacy Volunteers of Ontario-Yates
It's the time of year when the offices of Literacy Volunteers of Ontario-Yates are abuzz with planning for our annual Adult Spelling Bee, an afternoon of good-natured fun and competition. This is our 13th year pitting teams of three against each other, teams that are eager - or at willing to try - to earn bragging rights as the best of the best when it comes to spelling. For the first time, we're bringing this event to Geneva! We are currently looking for teams, sponsors and other donations. The entry fee is $300 per team. All the money raised at "The Bee" supports services for Ontario and Yates County adults who need literacy tutoring or assistance preparing for a high school equivalency test. Here are a few great ways to get involved:
* Recruit a team *Sponsor a team
*Make a donation *Attend the event
The Bee will start at 1pm on Sunday, February 8 in the auditorium at Geneva High School. Teams are being accepted through January 31 - but the first THREE teams to complete their registration (with payment) will get a free word pass. Call 585-396-1686 or visit www.literacyvoc.org or complete the registration form and return to us. Thank you for supporting our efforts to create a stronger, more literate community!!
